![]() Unlike modern death knights of the Scourge, these ghoulish fiends were not battle-hardened warriors they were insidious necromancers who possessed superior intellect and tremendous magical power. ![]() These death knights were created by placing the souls of the slain warlocks of the Shadow Council into the corpses of fallen Stormwind knights, the first of whom was Teron Gorefiend. The original death knights were created for Orgrim Doomhammer by Gul'dan as powerful soldiers of the Horde. Further empowered with magical energies culled from the slain necrolytes, the death knights wielded an arsenal of necromantic and elemental spells that mete out all but certain death to the enemies of the Horde. Assembled from the corpses of the Knights of Stormwind slain in the last battles of the First War, these abominations were then instilled with the ethereal essence of the Shadow Council now serve the Horde in a blasphemous state of eternal undeath. These soldiers of darkness were created by Gul'dan to replace the slaughtered Warlock clans. See also: Death knight races Creations of Gul'dan Teron Gorefiend, first of the death knights. Death knights are a melee class with an emphasis on causing diseases and using dark magic. Creation screen description Death knights are a hero class, which means they start at high level. A thousand atrocities are etched in the eyes of every death knight, and foes who gaze into them too long will feel the warmth pulled from their bodies, replaced with cold steel. Frost sharpens their strikes blood fortifies their bodies and undeath allows them to erupt in unholy rage in the heat of battle. One by one they trickled into the land of the living in search of a new purpose. After their vengeance was won, the death knights found themselves without a cause and without a home. When the Lich King’s control of his death knights was broken, his former champions sought revenge for the horrors committed under his command. Most important secondary attributes are usually Haste and Critical Strike, though certain specializations and rotations may favor Mastery. Primary death knight attributes are strength and stamina. Unholy death knights are masters of death and decay, spreading infection and controlling undead minions to do their bidding.Frost death knights are harbingers of doom, channeling runic power and delivering vicious weapon strikes. ![]()

But “you would have to be pretty cold ( hypothermic) to reduce blood flow to the muscles, and in that situation, running performance would not be your issue,” he adds. That contraction also reduces blood flow. It’s actually more concerning when you stop moving during a run. “Cold exposure will reduce blood flow to your skin to help preserve body temperature, but circulation to muscles isn’t impacted in normal exercise circumstances.” Also, “your nerves transmit signals slower in the cold, which may lead to less efficient muscle contraction over time,” says Mayer.īut don’t freak out if the mercury dips lower than you’d like: “A cold muscle cannot perform as well as a warm muscle, but when you are running in cold conditions, your muscles are generally warm and warmed to performance level,” says William O. On top of that, your blood vessels constrict in the cold to maintain your core temperature, and that constriction reduces blood flow. ![]() An 11 driveline loss is assumed for Wheel HP. But the colder it is outside, the harder your body has to work to keep your vital organs warm-then, “oxygen and blood tend to be shunted away from the extremities, which can make the muscles’ ability to use the oxygen less efficient than in more moderate temperatures,” says Mayer. It is additionally considered as an authority reference execution of a Java Standard Edition since rendition SE 7. Lower ram usage and everything else is decent. OpenJDK In actuality, OpenJDK is a free and open-source execution of the Java Development Services Edition. For a while, I saw that Vanilla's memory use went up SUPER FAST to 80% while Lunar went up slowly and when it reached about 35% and then the GC kicked in and brought that to 15%, restarting the cycle.įor Minecraft at least, Zulu seems to be the best option. ![]() ![]() The spikes are HUGE on Oracle, while there are more memory usage spikes on Zulu, they are 3-5x smaller than the peaks of Oracle. The OpenJDK builds are becoming more stable with the contributions of the OpenJDK community. OpenJDK's performance is continually improving. And in MC, where RAM usage is a problem, you can see why I'm talking about this. Oracle JDK performance used to be better than OpenJDK, but that is changing. However, JDK is what use used to power MC and you may not believe, but different JDKs from different companies can lead to better or worse performance. Get ready to break down some of the myths people have about burning fat! You burn fat even when you’re in couch-potato mode. But when it comes to losing weight, calories are calories. Your body burns either fat or carbohydrates depending on the intensity of your activity. Although it comes as a surprise to many, the majority of research shows that aerobic exercise in the so-called “fat burning zone” is not a very effective way to lose fat. To lose weight, any exercise will play its role, as all will burn a greater amount of calories than doing nothing. Some examples would be walking, speed walking, cycling, aerobics classes and light jogging (for those with average and higher fitness levels). Low-intensity exercise generally means working out with less effort, but keeping up a consistent pace. Typical examples would be sprinting, weight training rugby or basketball. High intensity exercise generally means regularly providing more effort during a movement or moving at a faster pace, either results in burning a great amount of energy. ![]() ![]() So which is best for losing weight? I really enjoyed Minutes to Midnight and thought that it was a fun little film for a lot of reasons. I don’t want to take anything away from Calypso, the other killer that appears in the movie as she is cool as hell too (and just as scary as Angus), but I think since he is just a tad more violent and brutal he edges her out as the best villain in the movie by just a hair. His big fight scenes with Hennigan are mighty epic and I had a blast watching them beat the living hell out of each other. He doesn’t play around when it comes to taking out his victims and if I had to guess I would say that the character was inspired a little by Victor Crowley from the Hatchet movies as they are both big terrifying dudes that enjoy killing people in the most painful ways imaginable. I also really dug the main antagonist, Angus (played by Aaron Aguilera, who has also been known to wrestle from time-to-time) and thought that he was one scary, brutal bastard. I must applaud his performance because he does an outstanding job and he should be proud of how well he brings his character to life. He plays such a likable character who is not only relatable, but also a total and complete badass that is basically the hero of the film. I don’t know if he took acting lessons or what, but he absolutely nailed the role and was one of the highlights of the film for me to be honest. Hennigan is one of those guys that was a phenomenal wrestler when it came in in-ring skills but was severely lacking when it came to cutting promos (and that is being generous as I always thought he had the personality of a wet dish rag during his run in the WWE). I think I was most impressed though, by the performance of former WWE superstar John Hennigan as he is totally awesome in the role of Travis. ![]() We get genre legend Bill Moseley, Dominique Swain (who only has a few seconds of screen time, unfortunately), Richard Grieco (who possibly gives the best performance of his career this time out), William Baldwin (who is my favorite Baldwin, by the way), and Mercy Malick (who totally rules as the deadly Calypso). I was very impressed with how packed the cast was and everyone that appears in this film does an excellent job. Minutes to Midnight follows your typical slasher formula and that is cool to me because unlike some other, recent slasher flicks the people responsible for this movie actually do it right, and the results are quite impressive. To make matters worse he is accompanied by a creepy (but oddly hot) woman that is every bit as brutal as he is, and it isn’t long before the bodies begin to pile up. We have a group of co-workers that head out to an empty ski lodge on New Year’s Eve to party the night away but before you know it a hulking, homicidal maniac wearing a costume that looks like a cross between Bane, Killer Croc, and the Scarecrow (I’m thinking that the people behind it must be Batman fans) shows up and starts killing everyone that he comes into contact with in a number of brutal and bloody ways. ![]() ![]() It may not have the most original premise ever but that’s okay because it works. I had a good time with it and thought that it was a decent little slasher that had a lot going for it. I went into it with my fingers crossed that it wouldn’t disappoint and am happy to say that while it wasn’t the greatest horror movie in the history of the world it did have its moments and I thought that it delivered. I didn’t really know a whole lot about Minutes to Midnight (wow, now I have that old Iron Maiden song “ Two Minutes to Midnight” stuck in my head) but after doing a little research on it before I watched it I thought that it sounded like it could be a cool little slasher flick. Too bad they aren’t alone as there are a few homicidal maniacs who live in the area that enjoy slicing and dicing anyone unlucky enough to cross their path, and by the time the clock strikes Midnight there may be no one left alive to celebrate. A group of friends gather at a ski lodge to celebrate New Year’s Eve with some hardcore partying and random debauchery. Typically, a threshold is set for each Young Generation object, and when that age is met, the object gets moved to the Old Generation. The Old Generation is used to store long-surviving objects. All minor garbage collections are “Stop the World” events, meaning that the JVM stops all application threads until the operation completes. When the Young Generation fills up, using its entire allocated memory, a minor garbage collection occurs. The Young Generation is where all new objects are allocated and aged, meaning their time in existence is monitored. The JVM heap consists of smaller parts or generations: Young Generation, Old Generation, and Permanent Generation. The JVM garbage collection process looks at heap memory, identifies which objects are in use and which are not, and deletes the unused objects to reclaim memory that can be leveraged for other purposes. It translates the instructions from its running programs into instructions and commands that run on the local operating system. The JVM runs on a local machine and functions as an operating system to the Java programs written to execute in it. Along the road, it helped us develop best practices around tuning the JVM for our scale which we hope others in the community will find useful. Preserving the reliability and performance of our internal data services required tuning the GC parameters and memory sizes and reducing the rate at which the system generated Java objects. Refining this core area of our data platform ensures that decision-makers within Uber get actionable business intelligence in a timely manner, letting us deliver the best possible services for our users, whether it’s connecting riders with drivers, restaurants with delivery people, or freight shippers with carriers. ![]() Increased memory consumption exposed a variety of issues, including long garbage collection ( GC ) pauses, memory corruption, out-of-memory ( OOM ) exceptions, and memory leaks. Uber’s growth over the last few years exponentially increased both the volume of data and the associated access loads required to process it, resulting in much more memory consumption from services. All of these services were built in Java or Scala and run on open source Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Our data platform leverages several open source projects (Apache Hive, Apache Presto, and Apache Spark ) for both interactive and long running queries, serving the myriad needs of different teams at Uber. Our Apache Hadoop-based data platform ingests hundreds of petabytes of analytical data with minimum latency and stores it in a data lake built on top of the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). This would give the merged question a good selection of both direct answers and alternatives.Running queries on Uber’s data platform lets us make data -driven decisions at every level, from forecasting rider demand during high traffic events to identifying and addressing bottlenecks in the driver sign-up process. All of these are pretty specific to file-based sources, which is a general shortcoming, but not much can be done about that I could add a new answer to whatever the master question ends up being along those lines, I suppose.Īnother option, if a mod wants to spend some time on it, could be to merge 1 into 3 then mark 2 and 4 as a duplicate of 3.
